Taiwanese local elections are scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Magistrate of Changhua County as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder Magistrates appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).DPP Legislator Chen Su-yueh holds an 83.5% implied probability in the Changhua County Magistrate race due to her party’s formal nomination and established local support base in a jurisdiction the DPP has targeted for gains. KMT deliberations over nominees, including consideration of Wei Ping-cheng, have remained deadlocked without producing a consensus challenger, limiting opposition cohesion. Former DPP Changhua mayor Chiu Chien-fu’s June resignation to run independently adds a potential vote-split factor, though his odds sit at 5.5%. Lower probabilities for other listed candidates reflect limited polling visibility and structural barriers ahead of the late-November vote. Trader pricing aligns with the DPP’s organizational edge and the absence of major recent shifts in candidate positioning or endorsements.
