The wide-open field for Song of the Year at the 2027 Grammys reflects an early eligibility window with no dominant frontrunner yet. Multiple high-profile releases, including Taylor Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia," Olivia Rodrigo's "drop dead" and "the cure," and tracks from Harry Styles, RAYE, Ariana Grande, Olivia Dean, Ella Langley, and Bruno Mars, sit in a tight 34–36% range, while dozens of TBD options trade near 50%. Traders are pricing in uncertainty around critical reception, streaming momentum, and chart performance that typically emerge later in the cycle. Key upcoming signals include fall release strategies, year-end critic lists, and early guild buzz that could consolidate sentiment ahead of nominations. Historical precedent shows Song of the Year often rewards broad cultural impact over peak popularity alone.
