Paris Saint-Germain enter the 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign as five-time defending champions after clinching their 2025-26 title with a draw or better in their final match against Lens. Their overwhelming market position stems from sustained domestic dominance, superior financial resources amid league-wide challenges, and a deep squad featuring established talents like Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Ousmane Dembélé under Luis Enrique. Rivals such as Marseille, Monaco, and Lille have shown limited consistency in recent seasons and lack comparable depth or spending power. While a prolonged injury crisis to multiple starters or an unprecedented surge from mid-table sides could theoretically open the door, PSG’s historical resilience and roster quality make such shifts improbable over a full campaign.
