Chung Tung-chin, the incumbent independent magistrate since 2022, commands an 88.5% implied probability in the November 28, 2026 Miaoli County magistrate race, reflecting trader consensus on his established local backing and administrative record. The DPP's formal nomination of Chen Pin-an in late 2025 positions the challenger at 6.7%, consistent with the party's modest recent performance in the county. Numerous additional candidates remain at 50%, signaling low market conviction in their viability. Incumbency advantages, including Chung's June 2026 recognition for improved administrative satisfaction, continue to shape positioning ahead of the vote, with no major shifts reported in the past month.
