Incumbent Republican Andrew Garbarino faces Democrat Patrick Halpin in the November 3, 2026, general election for New York’s 2nd congressional district, which covers the South Shore of Suffolk County and parts of Nassau County. Garbarino advanced unopposed after the Republican and Conservative primaries were canceled in June 2026, as did Halpin on the Democratic and Working Families lines. The seat has leaned Republican in recent cycles, with Garbarino securing nearly 60 percent in 2024. Prediction market pricing reflects the district’s partisan composition, the incumbent’s established name recognition, and the absence of competitive primaries or late-breaking developments that would alter the balance ahead of the general election.
