Meta's current market capitalization near $1.53 trillion versus OpenAI's most recent $852 billion post-money valuation after its March 2026 funding round underpins the 63% implied probability that Meta finishes higher on December 31. Strong ad-revenue growth exceeding 20% year-over-year and consistent operating margins above 40% provide Meta with a stable earnings trajectory and cash-flow advantage, while OpenAI continues to report substantial losses amid rapid scaling of compute and talent costs. Trader sentiment also incorporates Meta's ongoing AI infrastructure investments that could deliver monetization upside, offset by the possibility of an OpenAI IPO or further private rounds compressing the gap before year-end resolution.
