Anton Danko, the long-serving incumbent mayor of Poprad seeking another term in Slovakia’s October 2026 communal elections, leads trader assessments with strong implied probability. His position reflects decades in office since 2002, repeated re-election margins above 60 percent in prior cycles, and cross-party backing from groups including SNS, Smer-SD, and Hlas-SD while running as an independent. Competing independents such as business figures Jozef Králik and Mikuláš Bobák register lower probabilities amid a field of roughly a dozen candidates. Ongoing municipal infrastructure work and council proceedings have produced no evident erosion of the incumbent’s established local support base ahead of the vote.
