Kirk Cousins holds overwhelming trader consensus as the Raiders' Week 1 starter due to head coach Klint Kubiak's explicit statements positioning the veteran as QB1 throughout training camp, with the bulk of first-team reps. The Raiders signed Cousins in April 2026 specifically to serve as the bridge starter, allowing first-overall pick Fernando Mendoza time to adapt to NFL schemes without immediate pressure. Aidan O'Connell remains a distant third option on the depth chart amid reports he could be traded. While Cousins' 15th NFL season and Pro Bowl pedigree anchor this positioning, an injury during the final weeks of camp or preseason, or an unexpectedly strong showing from Mendoza that alters the planned timeline, represent the primary paths to a different outcome.

In the event two listed quarterbacks take the field on the first offensive play of the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 1 game, this market will resolve in favor of the player directly receiving the snap. If neither listed quarterback directly receives the snap, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
If Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or no official starter has taken the field within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL and/or the Las Vegas Raiders; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
