Maru holds a dominant historical edge over SHIN in their Terran-Zerg matchups, including recent series victories that reflect superior macro execution and map control on the current pool. SHIN advanced to this GSL Season 1 semifinal with strong recent momentum, topping his RO8 group undefeated by upsetting Zoun and ByuN through aggressive builds and improved midgame transitions. Maru progressed from his group with resilience after a loss to Cure, rebounding against Classic. The offline single-elimination pressure in this best-of-five semifinal favors Maru’s consistency, though SHIN’s potential for creative all-ins and the short series format leave room for variance in a high-stakes playoff environment.
