Rockstar's June 2026 pricing announcement set the GTA 6 standard edition at $79.99–$80 with pre-orders, establishing a clear $100 threshold that the base game will not cross. This confirmed figure, backed by Take-Two statements emphasizing value and inflation-adjusted AAA norms, drove trader consensus toward the near-certain “No” outcome. Historical Rockstar strategy of offering premium editions at or near $100 while keeping the core product accessible further reinforces the positioning, consistent with recent industry shifts seen in other major releases. Release is slated for November 2026, leaving limited room for last-minute adjustments, though any unexpected pre-launch revision or reinterpretation of what constitutes the “standard” edition remains a narrow theoretical upset path.
