KMT's March 2026 nomination of legislator Chang Chia-chun for the Yunlin County magistrate race, leveraging the party's local organizational strength and the longstanding influence of the Chang family network in the county, has established her as the clear frontrunner ahead of the November 28, 2026 election. DPP legislator Liu Chien-kuo serves as the main opposition candidate in a county that has leaned toward the ruling party in recent cycles but shows signs of shifting competitiveness. Trader consensus reflected in current pricing indicates limited room for late swings absent major campaign developments, candidate withdrawals, or significant polling shifts between now and voting day. No major new catalysts have emerged in the past month to alter this positioning.
