The New Jersey 5s and St. Louis Shock, the top two regular-season teams in Major League Pickleball, opened their best-of-three 2026 DoorDash MLP Finals series at City Pickle in Central Park after both squads swept their semifinal matchups. The teams split their four 2026 regular-season encounters 2-2, with St. Louis claiming a dominant 3-0 mid-season tournament final victory before New Jersey responded with a 3-1 win in the regular-season finale. New Jersey’s roster, featuring Anna Leigh Waters, Jorja Johnson, Federico Staksrud, and Noe Khlif, holds home-team advantage for the first two matches in the best-of-three format that includes men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles plus potential DreamBreakers. St. Louis counters with Anna Bright, Kate Fahey, Hayden Patriquin, and Gabe Tardio, whose recent doubles dominance and 15-match win streak shaped pre-series trader positioning around the evenly matched favorites.
