Arevalo and Pavic, the 2024 Cincinnati champions and strong contenders for the year-end doubles No. 1 ranking, bring proven hard-court synergy and recent match wins into their opening-round clash against the Khachanov/Rublev pairing. The experienced Salvadoran-Croatian duo has advanced deep in Masters 1000 events this season, leveraging superior net play and return consistency. Khachanov and Rublev, both primarily singles players, have posted occasional doubles success including a 2023 Madrid title and recent Indian Wells progress, but their partnership remains less tested at this level. Surface familiarity, rest factors, and the first-round format at the hard-court Masters 1000 favor the seeded specialists, though the Russian pair’s power baseline game can create upset opportunities on any given day.
