Lancashire Lightning secured a convincing 39-run victory over Nottinghamshire Outlaws in their May 25 North Group encounter at Emirates Old Trafford, powered by half-centuries from Keaton Jennings, Matty Hurst, and Ben McDermott alongside Tom Hartley’s four-wicket haul. Nottinghamshire sit third in the current North Group standings with three wins from six matches, showing recent improvement through victories over Derbyshire and Durham, while Lancashire have fewer fixtures completed and mixed early results. The July 3 rematch at Trent Bridge gives Notts home conditions that often reward aggressive batting lineups featuring players like Alex Hales and Joe Clarke. Both sides face a congested schedule with playoff implications, making squad rotation and recent T20 form key variables ahead of the clash.
