**Trader consensus favoring "No" at 95.3% reflects the brief remaining window until January 2027 combined with Southern California's low background rate of large events.** USGS monitoring shows only minor seismicity in recent weeks, with the largest recent shocks near magnitude 3–4 and no foreshock sequences or anomalous strain buildup detected along key faults such as the San Andreas or blind thrusts beneath the Los Angeles basin. Historical catalogs indicate M6.5+ events recur on timescales of decades to centuries in the metropolitan area, yielding annual probabilities well below 1% in most models. With roughly 3.5 months left, the implied odds align with this rarity. A sudden cluster of moderate foreshocks or revised fault-slip data could still shift short-term hazard estimates, though such changes rarely produce a qualifying mainshock within weeks.
