Ju Wenjun enters as the clear market leader due to her status as reigning Women's World Champion and her victory in the inaugural 2024 Norway Chess Women event, bolstered by consistent classical results and recent speed chess title defenses. Bibisara Assaubayeva and Zhu Jiner sit close behind, reflecting their strong recent form in the ongoing 2026 Women's Candidates, where Assaubayeva has posted key wins and co-led the standings into the final rounds while leveraging her blitz prowess for potential Armageddon tiebreaks. Anna Muzychuk, Humpy Koneru, and Divya Deshmukh trail as established contenders whose experience and head-to-head records against the field keep them competitive, though none match Ju's combination of title pedigree and recent momentum heading into the May 25–June 5 classical event in Oslo.
