Dang Qiu enters the WTT Contender Zagreb matchup as the clear favorite due to his top-12 world ranking, consistent performances in higher-tier WTT Champions events, and technical edge with his penhold grip and strong backhand play. The German has shown resilience in recent 2026 tournaments, including comebacks at Chongqing, though he has faced occasional stability issues on the backhand. Gang-Hyeon Park, a Korean contender with solid results in Zagreb and Skopje draws, benefits from home-region familiarity and recent straight-sets wins but trails in overall singles pedigree and experience against elite opposition. Head-to-head trends and current form favor Qiu, yet table tennis volatility means Park retains upset potential on strong serving days.
