Jannik Sinner’s commanding position as the 69.5% favorite for the 2026 French Open stems primarily from Carlos Alcaraz’s withdrawal due to a right-wrist injury, removing the two-time defending champion and Sinner’s chief clay-court rival from the draw at Roland Garros. The world No. 1 enters with exceptional recent form, including a record fifth straight Masters 1000 title after dominating Alexander Zverev in the Madrid final and carrying an 11-match clay winning streak into the Italian Open. Zverev, now the clear second seed at 7.3%, benefits from the thinned field but faces a significant gap in current level, while Novak Djokovic at 5.0% draws on his three prior titles yet contends with age-related challenges on the demanding red clay. Trader consensus reflects Sinner’s superior consistency and improved movement on the surface, tempered by the inherent unpredictability of a two-week Grand Slam.
