Preston Stearns enters the M15 Champaign hard-court matchup with stronger recent momentum, securing straight-sets victories over Noa Vukadin and Jon Gamble in the event's opening rounds while consistently claiming first sets. Joshua Peck, a 27-year-old Canadian ranked near 1,300, also advanced by defeating Adam Jilly but carries a 6-17 hard-court record for 2026 and has struggled for consistency across recent ITF stops. This marks their first meeting, with both players competing at the entry-level Futures level where form on the surface and early-round efficiency often dictate outcomes. Traders appear to weigh Stearns' current run and set-winning reliability more heavily than Peck's experience.
