**Kasidit Samrej enters this ITF M25 Taipei 2 quarterfinal on outdoor hard courts as the clear favorite, holding a substantial ranking edge (ATP 482, career high 346) over Yan Cheng Chen (around 1050 range) along with stronger overall results at this level.** Samrej, Thailand’s top player and a 2025 Australian Open participant, arrives in strong recent form after straight-sets victories over Kai-I Wang (6-3, 6-2) and Yuki Mochizuki (6-4, 7-6) in the same event. Chen, a local Taipei player, has also advanced convincingly with wins over Shin S. and Wang Y., showing solid hard-court consistency, but lacks Samrej’s depth of experience against higher-caliber opposition. With no prior head-to-head and both players comfortable on the surface, the matchup hinges on Samrej’s superior serve-return balance and ability to handle pressure in longer rallies. Late-round scheduling and any fatigue from the quick turnaround remain the main variables that could influence the outcome.
