The Chicago White Sox enter the late-August series at Target Field as AL Central leaders at 71-63, riding a three-game winning streak and a 5-3 season-series advantage after a 7-4 victory the prior night powered by Colson Montgomery's three-run homer. Minnesota, at 64-71 and 7.5 games back in the division, has dropped three straight and sits four games out of the final wild-card spot following an 8-14 stretch since the trade deadline. Probable starters Erick Fedde (6-8, 4.18 ERA) and Bailey Ober (7-4, 4.49 ERA) face off, with the Twins hampered by injuries including Byron Buxton's back issue and multiple pitchers on the IL. White Sox power production and road form contrast with Minnesota's home splits and fading postseason odds, shaping trader views on the outcome.
