Both teams enter the upcoming series at loanDepot park with nearly identical sub-.500 records, the Marlins sitting slightly ahead at 58-55 in the NL East while the Pirates stand at 57-61 in the NL Central. Multiple starting and relief pitchers remain on the injured list for each club, including Pittsburgh’s Mitch Keller and Miami’s Max Meyer, which has thinned rotations and increased reliance on bullpens during a stretch of games with limited rest. Home-field advantage and recent interleague results favor the Marlins in the short series, though both clubs’ middle-of-the-pack offenses and inconsistent recent form leave room for variance based on which arms are available and how the pitching matchups develop.
