Both teams enter their late-August three-game series at Rogers Centre with nearly identical sub-.500 records and limited playoff hopes, though the Mariners hold a slight edge in AL West positioning while the Blue Jays sit fourth in the AL East. Seattle’s rotation depth faces tests from multiple injuries, including Bryan Woo’s day-to-day status and absences for J.P. Crawford and others, while Toronto deals with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on the seven-day IL alongside bullpen and infield concerns. Recent form favors the Blue Jays’ momentum after a surge of wins, contrasting the Mariners’ inconsistency marked by blowout losses and extra-inning results. Pitching matchups, including Dylan Cease against Seattle’s staff, and home/road splits will shape outcomes in what remains a competitive interleague set.
