The 2026 Liga Profesional's runner-up market remains tightly bunched because the Apertura-Clausura split and aggregate points table for the overall title reward sustained consistency across a 30-team field rather than sustained dominance by any single side. Early Clausura results show Vélez Sarsfield, Instituto, Argentinos Juniors, and Defensa y Justicia trading leads with narrow margins, while promoted sides like Gimnasia y Esgrima (M) and Estudiantes (RC) add further depth. Traditional powers such as River Plate, Boca Juniors, and Estudiantes (LP) have posted mixed form amid fixture congestion and squad rotation, preventing any meaningful separation in implied probabilities. This broad parity and the potential for late surges or slips keep nearly every contender within a narrow band of trader consensus.
