Recent quarterfinal results set the semifinals as No. 1 Federico Staksrud against No. 4 Hunter Johnson and No. 2 Ben Johns against No. 3 Connor Garnett, with Johnson coming off a national title win and Johns defeating Christian Alshon in straight games. Staksrud holds a strong recent head-to-head edge over Johns in singles, while Garnett's path included a comeback victory; outdoor conditions and multi-event fatigue for players like Alshon add variables heading into Saturday's matches that determine the finalists.
