The 2026–27 J2 League campaign opened only days ago under the new fall-spring calendar, leaving nearly every side with at most one match completed and identical or near-identical points tallies. Relegated J1 clubs such as Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, Sagan Tosu, Jubilo Iwata, Albirex Niigata, Shonan Bellmare and Yokohama FC bring deeper squads and greater resources, yet J2 stalwarts including Vegalta Sendai, Ventforet Kofu, Oita Trinita and RB Omiya Ardija have posted strong pre-season form and retain promotion experience. Newly promoted sides like Vanraure Hachinohe, Iwaki FC and Tochigi City add further parity, while the expanded 20-team field and winter-break structure compress the schedule and increase the chance for results to swing quickly. With no team yet establishing separation, trader pricing reflects broad uncertainty over which club will sustain consistency across the nine-month campaign.
