Trader consensus on Polymarket overwhelmingly favors "No" at 96.5% for The Elder Scrolls VI releasing by December 31, driven by Bethesda Game Studios' confirmed early-stage development following Starfield's 2023 launch, with active production only ramping up in 2023 per official statements. Todd Howard's recent February and March 2026 interviews reiterated the title—announced prematurely in 2018—is "a while yet" away, with the studio now playable internally but lacking marketing, trailers, or precursor milestones typical of late-cycle AAA RPGs like Skyrim (five-year dev cycle). Historical Bethesda patterns and resource allocation to ongoing Starfield updates solidify this skin-in-the-game certainty. Realistic upsets hinge on improbable rushed early access or surprise Xbox showcase reveals, though no such signals have emerged amid fan frustration.
