The Chicago Cubs enter this three-game series at Coors Field with a near-.500 record and stronger overall roster depth, though pitching injuries have thinned their rotation, including Jameson Taillon landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. The Colorado Rockies own MLB’s worst record and continue to battle extensive injuries across their pitching staff, limiting depth for a team already struggling with consistency. High-altitude conditions at the Rockies’ home park typically inflate offense for both sides and have historically challenged visiting clubs. Recent results show the Cubs dropping the series opener 7-3, while broader form highlights Chicago’s edge in talent against a rebuilding Colorado squad seeking to avoid another extended losing stretch.
