The Chicago Cubs enter Sunday’s finale at T-Mobile Park with a 74-56 record, second in the NL Central and holding a Wild Card lead, while the Mariners sit at 62-68 and third in the AL West. Chicago’s offense leads in runs, on-base percentage, slugging, and home runs, giving them a clear edge despite dropping the first two games of the series and three straight overall. Shota Imanaga (8-9, 3.77 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) faces Bryce Miller (4-7, 3.71 ERA, 1.04 WHIP) in a matchup of comparable starters, though the Cubs’ deeper lineup and road success this season tilt trader consensus their way. Both clubs are dealing with multiple IL placements—Dansby Swanson and Matt Shaw for Chicago, J.P. Crawford and Colt Emerson for Seattle—while Mariners recent form (6-4 last 10) and home edge have kept the series competitive after walk-off wins featuring Randy Arozarena. Late scratches, bullpen usage, and any updates on Kevin Gausman’s hand issue remain key variables for the final outcome.
