Recent MLB The Show editions have highlighted star performers like Aaron Judge, who returned for the 2026 cover after a prior appearance, reflecting Sony San Diego Studio's pattern of selecting high-profile players tied to MVP-level seasons, All-Star nods, or record-breaking stats to drive pre-launch buzz. With MLB The Show 26 skipping a fresh cover athlete in a January 2026 announcement before confirming Judge's repeat, trader focus has shifted to 2027 speculation around names like Bryce Harper and Juan Soto. Key catalysts ahead include 2026 postseason results, free agency moves, and any early 2027 teaser from the studio, as cover decisions typically surface in January to align with spring training and March launches. Market odds capture crowd consensus on who best combines on-field impact with broad fan appeal for the next console and PC editions.
