The Toronto Blue Jays enter their upcoming matchup against the Detroit Tigers on a five-game road losing streak, with the AL East club sitting at 19-25 and searching for offensive consistency after managing just two runs in their most recent contest at Comerica Park. Detroit, at 20-25 in the AL Central, secured a 3-2 walk-off win on May 15 behind Spencer Torkelson’s ninth-inning RBI single, capitalizing on Toronto’s late-inning bullpen vulnerabilities. Blue Jays starter Trey Yesavage has posted a strong 1.40 ERA over his first four starts since returning from a spring shoulder issue, yet the lineup has scored three runs or fewer in three of those outings. The Tigers benefit from home-field advantage and a favorable recent home record, while both clubs remain mired in the middle of their respective divisions with limited momentum heading into the series.
