Wisconsin enters the 2026 season with a 6.5 regular-season win total line after a 4-8 campaign in 2025 under fourth-year head coach Luke Fickell. The Badgers sit at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten following a 13-41 loss to Notre Dame, then victories over Western Illinois, Eastern Michigan, a 24-20 road upset at Penn State, and a 31-3 home win over Michigan State. Transfer quarterback Colton Joseph has driven the offense through a transfer-heavy roster, while the defense has limited opponents effectively in conference play. The remaining schedule features seven games against ranked or traditionally physical Big Ten opponents including trips to UCLA, Iowa, and Maryland plus home matchups with USC and Minnesota, creating a narrow path to clear the total amid questions about sustained road performance and depth.
