The 2026–27 UEFA Nations League League A features 16 teams split into four groups of four, with the bottom-placed side in each group facing automatic relegation to League B after the November league phase. The third-placed teams enter March 2027 promotion/relegation play-offs against League B runners-up. The six sides promoted from the prior edition—Czech Republic, England, Greece, Norway, Turkey and Wales—enter as the primary candidates for direct relegation given their generally lower FIFA rankings and recent results relative to established powers such as France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands. Fixtures begin 24 September across a compressed September–October window plus November matchdays, with group strength, home/away form and injury absences shaping early market consensus on the four sides most likely to finish last.

Official relegation is defined as a team losing its place in UEFA Nations League A for the 2028-29 UEFA Nations League through their final standing in the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League A league phase, via promotion/relegation play-off defeat, or by any other official decision recognized by UEFA.
If the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League is cancelled, postponed after April 13, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or there are no teams confirmed for relegation within that timeframe, the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
The primary resolution source will be official announcements from UEFA. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
