The Chicago Cubs enter their upcoming series at Citi Field with a 38-36 record, holding a modest edge in the NL Central while the Mets sit at 32-41 and last in the NL East. Recent form favors Chicago, which has shown improved offensive consistency and power from players like Pete Crow-Armstrong, contrasted with New York’s ongoing struggles with pitching depth and run prevention. The Mets’ earlier nine-plus game losing streak included heavy defeats to these Cubs in April, though both clubs have since stabilized somewhat. Home-field factors at Citi Field and probable starter matchups will shape outcomes, with the Cubs’ road performance and bullpen reliability serving as key variables in what projects as a competitive interleague set.
