Amanda Anisimova and Jessica Pegula meet in the Cincinnati Open quarterfinals on hard courts, where both Americans enter on strong recent form. Pegula, the No. 3 seed and former Cincinnati finalist, has advanced with straight-sets wins over Waltert and Navarro, maintaining her reputation for consistency and experience in high-stakes matches. Anisimova, seeded around No. 9-10 and ranked in the top 10, rallied from a set down to defeat Eala in the third round after earlier victories, building on a solid 2026 season that includes a first career win over Pegula in the Australian Open quarterfinals. Pegula previously held a perfect head-to-head record, but the recent result and Anisimova’s improved power game on hard courts create a closely contested matchup. Both players’ paths highlight strong serving and baseline play suited to the surface, with minimal rest or travel factors.
