Both teams sit near .500 overall in the 2026 KBO standings, with Hanwha Eagles at 33-35-2 in sixth place and SSG Landers at 29-40-2 in ninth, reflecting inconsistent results across recent series. Hanwha benefits from ace Ryu Hyun-jin’s league-leading wins and sub-3.00 ERA plus home familiarity at Daejeon, yet offensive output has varied with multiple extra-inning contests and split outcomes. SSG counters with improved depth after adding Thomas Hatch and returning injured players, offsetting a weaker record through solid bullpen work and head-to-head competitiveness. The even implied probability stems from balanced pitching staffs, limited confirmed roster absences, and neutral travel factors, though a confirmed starter matchup, bullpen fatigue, or weather at an outdoor venue could quickly shift sentiment.
