Valve’s April 28, 2026 update introduced the reworked Cache to Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, and Retakes modes, marking the map’s first official CS2 appearance after its 2019 removal from the Active Duty pool. This move follows Valve’s purchase of map rights in 2025 and aligns with their recent pattern of testing reworked maps in casual playlists before Premier integration. Community sentiment remains strong, with players and pros debating which map Cache might replace once it enters the professional rotation. Upcoming factors include the IEM Cologne Major and the start of the next CS2 season, periods when Valve has historically adjusted the map pool. Trader pricing reflects expectations that Premier addition remains likely but not immediate, given Valve’s deliberate rollout cadence.
