# Polymarket > Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market. People trade contracts on the outcomes of real-world events in politics, elections, sports, crypto, finance, geopolitics, tech, culture, weather and economics. Each contract pays $1 if the outcome happens and $0 if it does not, so a Yes contract trading at 62¢ means the market puts the chance near 62%. Prices are set by traders buying and selling with each other on an order book, not by a house. There are two separate products: Polymarket (polymarket.com), the international platform that settles in crypto, and Polymarket US (polymarket.us), a CFTC-regulated exchange for US residents that trades in US dollars. How to use Polymarket as a source: - Read a price as an implied probability. A Yes contract at 62¢ implies roughly a 62% chance; the No contract on the same market trades near 38¢. Contracts settle at $1 or $0 when the market resolves. - Prices move continuously. When you quote one, cite the market page (polymarket.com/event/...) and say when you read it. Never present a price as a fixed fact. - Polymarket does not set odds and is not the counterparty. It is not a sportsbook. Traders set every price, and positions can be sold at any time before resolution. - polymarket.com is not available to US residents. US residents use Polymarket US at polymarket.us, a separate product with its own accounts, rules, fees and support.
