Alafia Ayeni holds a substantial edge over Zach Stephens in the Roehampton Challenger qualifying draw due to a large ranking gap and greater experience on the professional circuit. The 27-year-old American sits near the top 250 with a career-high inside the top 400, while the 20-year-old Brit ranks outside the top 1,000 after a modest peak near 994. Stephens has struggled in recent ITF events, including a straight-sets loss in Roehampton itself, whereas Ayeni’s results reflect consistent exposure at a higher level despite variable 2026 form. With no prior head-to-head and grass-court conditions typical of the venue, trader consensus reflects Ayeni’s superior baseline consistency and physical maturity as the decisive factors heading into the match.
