Shelbayh holds a substantial ranking edge at approximately world No. 253 with a career-high of 181, compared to Seggerman’s position near No. 659 and a singles peak of 348. The 22-year-old Jordanian has ATP-level hard-court experience from recent U.S. swing events, including Washington qualifying, while the American has focused more on doubles success with a career-high ranking of 63 in that discipline. Their first meeting comes in Winston-Salem qualifying on outdoor hard courts ahead of the US Open, where Shelbayh’s superior singles results and recent match play give him the clearer path to advancement in a best-of-three format.
