The Los Angeles Dodgers enter the upcoming series against the St. Louis Cardinals with an 81-55 record atop the NL West, well ahead of the 68-69 Cardinals in the NL Central. Recent form shows the Dodgers splitting a series in Detroit, highlighted by Blake Snell’s strong outing before a walk-off loss, while the Cardinals have dropped recent games amid offensive struggles. Shohei Ohtani’s next pitching start has been delayed by knee and biceps concerns, potentially affecting rotation plans. Key roster notes include Masyn Winn’s thumb fracture placing him on the injured list for St. Louis and Roki Sasaki’s blister-related absence for Los Angeles. Home-field advantage at Dodger Stadium and the Dodgers’ superior depth and recent run differential position them as the clear market favorite, with traders pricing in the talent gap and Cardinals’ middling situational factors.
