The Uruguayan Primera División's 2026 season features a split Apertura-Clausura format feeding into aggregate standings and playoffs, which has produced narrow points gaps across the table. Peñarol sits atop the overall standings after strong early results, yet Deportivo Maldonado, Racing Club de Montevideo, and Montevideo Wanderers remain within striking distance on goal difference and form, while Boston River, Central Español, Cerro, and Liverpool FC (Montevideo) have posted opening Clausura victories that keep them in contention. Traditional powers Nacional and Defensor Sporting, along with sides like Danubio and Cerro Largo, retain realistic paths through favorable remaining schedules and head-to-head records. This structural parity and rapid shifts in Clausura momentum have produced closely bunched trader consensus around the runner-up spot.

If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to finish as runner-up of Uruguayan Primera División for the 2026 season per the rules of Uruguayan Primera División (e.g., the participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No".
If multiple teams are declared as second-place finishers, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If this event is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or a runner-up has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other".
The resolution source will be official information from the Uruguayan Primera División; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
