**Denny Hamlin holds a slim nine-point lead over Kyle Larson in the NASCAR Cup Series Chase standings after 28 of 36 races, with Christopher Bell 18 points back and the rest of the 16-driver field within roughly 120 points.** Hamlin’s regular-season dominance (four wins, strong stage points) earned him the top seed, but modest Chase results—an 18th at Darlington and ninth at Gateway—have allowed pursuers to close in. Larson’s overtime victory at World Wide Technology Raceway ended a 51-race Cup winless streak and vaulted him into second, highlighting his Hendrick Motorsports team’s speed on intermediate tracks. Bell’s Southern 500 win opened the postseason on a high note, while consistent performers like Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, and Ty Gibbs remain within striking distance. With eight races left, including the high-stakes Bristol night race, the bunched probabilities reflect the format’s emphasis on steady execution over the remaining schedule rather than any single driver pulling away.
