The 2026 FBS rushing yards race remains wide open entering August with a deep group of returning standouts and rising talents driving tight trader pricing. Kewan Lacy (Ole Miss) and Ahmad Hardy (Missouri) top consensus lists after posting 1,567 and 1,649 yards respectively in 2025, while Jadan Baugh (Florida), Justice Haynes, LJ Martin (BYU), and others like Cam Cook and Caleb Hawkins bring comparable volume and efficiency from strong offensive environments. SEC schedules, backfield depth, and early camp reports on workload distribution keep implied probabilities clustered, as no single player has separated on recent form or roster clarity. Historical patterns show the leader often emerges from a crowded field once conference play and injuries clarify the picture.
