This market will resolve to "Yes" if any player records 5,000 or more passing yards during the 2026-27 NFL regular season. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Only regular season games count. Playoff games, including Wild Card, Divisional, Conference Championship, and Pro Football Championship games, do not count. A player's total is the total he records across all of his 2026-27 NFL regular season games, including games played for more than one team. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is shortened, truncated, or ends early for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available official data for completed games. If the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 26, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it cannot be determined whether any player recorded 5,000 or more passing yards within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "50-50". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**No at 57% reflects the historical rarity of 5,000-yard seasons and current league trends limiting extreme passing volume.** Reaching that mark requires averaging roughly 294 passing yards per game across 17 contests, a pace achieved only sporadically even by elite quarterbacks. The last instance was Patrick Mahomes’ 5,250 yards in 2022; no QB has approached it in recent seasons. Early 2026 projections for likely leaders (Dak Prescott, Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff) cluster between roughly 3,950–4,200 yards, with per-game props in Week 2 often in the 240–270 range. League-wide passing yards per game have declined over the past decade amid more zone coverage, exotic defensive looks, and a shift toward under-center formations and play-action that emphasize efficiency over raw volume. Injuries, rest management, and game scripts further cap opportunities for any single passer to sustain outlier production. While top offenses with strong weapons could push one QB higher in a favorable schedule, the combination of defensive evolution and realistic season-long totals supports the market’s lean toward “No.”
