Kirk Cousins enters training camp as the Raiders’ clear Week 1 starter after signing a one-year, $20 million guaranteed deal in April and reuniting with head coach Klint Kubiak. Official statements confirm he will open camp as QB1 with the bulk of first-team reps, reflecting the team’s preference for veteran experience over the No. 1 overall pick, rookie Fernando Mendoza. Aidan O’Connell remains a distant depth option. Trader consensus around the 92 percent implied probability for Cousins stems from this established plan, his recent first-team work, and the absence of any major camp setbacks. An injury during the remainder of camp or preseason, or an unexpectedly dominant performance by Mendoza that forces a depth-chart change, represent the primary realistic paths to an outcome shift before the regular-season opener.

In the event two listed quarterbacks take the field on the first offensive play of the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 1 game, this market will resolve in favor of the player directly receiving the snap. If neither listed quarterback directly receives the snap, this market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically.
If Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or no official starter has taken the field within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL and/or the Las Vegas Raiders; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
