Amil (11-2), a 36-year-old with notable knockout power and a reach edge, has absorbed consecutive losses including a 26-second first-round KO to Jose Delgado and a unanimous decision to Jamall Emmers, while reflecting publicly on a prior near career-ending stomach infection that disrupted his preparation. Rodriguez (12-4), the younger fighter at 28, brings submission threats and wrestling but sits on a two-fight skid after split-decision and unanimous-decision defeats to Andre Fili and Melquizael Costa. Both competitors have alternated stoppage and decision outcomes in the Octagon, with the matchup hinging on Amil’s striking volume against Rodriguez’s grappling entries and durability in a three-round format at the Apex. No major late roster changes or weigh-in issues have surfaced.
