**Regulatory and capacity barriers continue to weigh heavily on the prospects for Apple sourcing CXMT DRAM in 2026.** Apple has tested LPDDR5X and related modules from the Chinese maker for iPhone and MacBook use—primarily targeting China-market devices—while lobbying the Trump administration since June for assurances against Entity List placement, given CXMT’s placement on the Pentagon’s 1260H military-linked list. However, CXMT’s fabs are running near 95% utilization with output largely committed through 2027, limiting near-term volume for a new customer of Apple’s scale. Established suppliers Samsung, SK hynix, and Micron remain dominant, and ongoing U.S.-China export-control risks plus congressional pushback make a meaningful 2026 purchase unlikely absent rapid regulatory clearance and capacity relief.
