Rockstar Games and parent Take-Two officially confirmed GTA 6's standard edition at $79.99 ahead of pre-orders, directly settling the market in favor of "No" with an Ultimate Edition priced at $99.99. This aligns with normalized console pricing trends around $70–$80 and counters earlier speculation about a $100 base tag that could have set a new industry precedent. Trader consensus at 97.5% reflects the binding nature of the announcement, historical patterns of Rockstar sticking to disclosed figures, and pre-order data showing strong demand at the revealed price. A realistic upset would require an unexpected pre-launch hike for the standard edition, though such a reversal remains improbable given the company's value-based strategy and ongoing promotion.
