Marcel Zielinski holds the ranking edge at approximately No. 580 with a career-high near 570, bringing greater ITF experience on outdoor clay compared to the 18-year-old Slovenian Žiga Šeško, who recently reached a career-high of No. 795 after strong junior results including an Australian Open junior title. The pair has no prior head-to-head meetings, and both enter the M15 Trier first-round clash with limited recent senior results—Zielinski after a semifinal run in another German M15 event and Šeško with sparse professional matches. Clay-court consistency and physical endurance at this level often favor the more seasoned player, though Šeško’s junior pedigree creates realistic upset potential in an early-round futures encounter.
